Christmas In Georgia ?
We were driving around the north Georgia foothills, me, my friend Pam, and her husband Lloyd. Christmas carols from the radio were filling the inside of their cozy little mom van. Outside was cold and dark. Just perfect for looking at the lights and decorations along the road back to Atlanta.
The usual songs were playing. The classics like Rudolf, The Chestnuts song, and of course Ray Charles. There were plenty of songs about Tennessee Christmas, New York Christmas, Alabama Christmas, and other places, but not a single one about a Christmas in Georgia.
Pam and I were having a great time together during that time in our lives playing in restaurants with our music Duo Pam and Mara (Mara – That’s me).
So, there we were, driving in her car enjoying the festive season listening to all these classic Christmas songs. As all of these songs were playing about Christmas in other places around the world, I just said ..
“How come nobody ever wrote a song about a Christmas in Georgia”? Then the next thing I said was .. “Well, I’ll just have to write one”!
That’s how the song Christmas in Georgia was born.
I decided to make it about the season of Christmas and the anticipation of seeing a sweetheart. In fact, most of the music on this album is about the season of Christmas .. the sights, scents, smells, and feelings.
Please enjoy and get a little taste of what Christmas is like in north Georgia. ❤️

Christmas In Georgia
Tall evergreens reaching for the sky
The crisp touch of winter whispers in the pines
The warm glow of summer long gone away
Oh I’m longing for you you and Christmas day
Chorus
We’ll have a Christmas in ga All the trimming and the lights
The sound of carols echo through the night
Christmas in Ga yeah that’s what we will do
And baby I’ll be lovin’ you
Verse
With every moment I’m holding on so tight
As I gaze at the stars the fill the wintry night
Visions of you fill the frosty air
Thinkin bout Christmas and dreaming you’ll be there
