"Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" (1 Cor. 3:16)
Key 3. Holiness.
If there is one thing that evil can’t stand it’s the holiness of God! When the devil and his friends get anywhere near the holiness of God, they shriek in terror. You have this amazing holiness inside of you now! Negativity and darkness have to flee from it.
One way to think of God’s holiness is like a powerful antiseptic. It’s everything pure, good, and righteous. No evil can persist in holiness.
Did you know that when you made Christ the Lord of your life that your spirit became sanctified? Your spirit became alive to the eternal truth of God! At that moment the spirit within you changed and the Holy Spirit came to reside in you. That means you have access to the greatest power on this earth. The power to defeat darkness!
God created the spirit so that it would never die. His plan from the beginning was for all of humanity to be with him forever. He communed with Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. When they chose to listen to the voice of Satan, and disobey God, the whole earth changed. Everything changed. The bodies that Adam and Eve had also changed. The bodies they had from the beginning were made to never die. The spirits he gave them were pure.
After their eyes were opened to good and evil, God, because of his holiness, had to separate from them. I suppose it was because of his love for them. If he did come physically to the earth where they were, it would have killed them. It would have been the end of humanity. His holiness would have blasted the earth clean.
But, the good news is that the pathway to being with God is restored! You can now have a full relationship with him. You are now a new creation. Since your spirit is alive now, you have the ability to hear from him, and commune with him any time of the day or night! His amazing love is right at your fingertips.
God has taken you in now and is beginning a transformation inside of you. A transformation that will bring you joy in your trials, peace in chaos, and wisdom for your life.
Don’t be afraid when he knocks on the door of your heart. Fear can hinder your intimacy with him. You don’t need to fear his presence. His desire is not to harm you. He sees the things inside of you that you may be afraid to let him see. You don’t need to try to hide these things. He is always gentle and understands why and how these things are in you. This is where healing is.
Be patient with yourself as he is patient with you. He is not seeking perfection. But, rather, holiness inside of you. Your light of holiness will blast away all the darkness that evil can dare to throw at you!
