Destiny Awaits
Destiny.
It has a ring to it. The sound of it brings up thoughts of future and purpose.
What now God?
Do you ever find yourself saying “what now God? You’ve gotten me this far … now what?” That’s how I was feeling on the day my song Destiny was birthed.. I was seeking the Lord about the next steps in the grand story of my life, but I was not getting a response from God. I was not hearing the next step.
I was feeling lost. I have had a dream in my heart for many years to use my God-given gifts to impact the kingdom. Do you ever feel that way? You know God gave your special gifts that he plans to use for a deeper purpose. But sometimes the path is just not clear.
Distractions and Emotions
The world we live in has so many distractions, and it’s so easy for me to drift off into the noise and fancies of the world. And I also find that this dream God put into me makes me get super emotional ..
I find that When I get too emotional, and something is so closely tied to my heart, that makes it even harder to hear from God.
Do you ever have those moments where your head is spinning because you have too many things going on in your mind and emotions? That’s where journaling comes in the picture for me. I often like to journal just so I can work through my emotions and get my thoughts down in front of me.
God is OK with our emotions. He gave them to us. King David wrote many a psalm in the midst of his pain and confusion. Emotions are not the enemy. Letting them rule over you is.
I was having such a moment when I wrote in my journal .. “I’m having trouble hearing you today”. .. “I’m so overcome … I’ve lost my way. I want to hear I want to see what you have for me … ” When I saw those words staring up at me from the page I knew this was the beginning of a song, so I pressed in..
The Spirit is Willing
You know the expression the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak? Well it’s true. In spite of what i was feeling my flesh, I knew in my spirit that the emotions I was feeling were lies. My spirit knew that God had a plan. This carries on the the next part of the song ..
You say you have a plan for me, to give me hope and prosper me … Jeremiah 29:11 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
I could tell you more about the inspiration for this song, but I’d rather you take the time to reflect on your own destiny in God.

Destiny Lyrics …
I’m having trouble hearing you today
So overcome and I’ve lost my way.
I want to hear, I want see, what you have for me
You say you have a plan for me
Plans to give me hope and prosper me
I’’m on the edge of something new, if I could just break through
I will wait I will wait I will wait on you
I will wait I will I’ll wait I will wait on you
I will will soar triumphantly
To my destiny
Tell me why have I been so afraid
Listening to lies that say that it’s too late
Putting doubt in my rear mirror cos the futures getting clearer
When shadows fall and misconstrue
The line between lie and truth
My head high I choose to see, you believe in me
I will wait I will wait I will wait on you
I will wait I will I’ll wait I will wait on you
I will will soar triumphantly
To my destiny
No more looking at the pas to the land the locust ate
I’m On the straight and narrow path cos you see the best in me
Two steps forward I’m going towards the burning flame
To my destiny to my destiny
