Did God Allow Storm Helene?

Following the devastating aftermath of storm Helelne, I had a long conversation with a friend and we both were questioning why God would permit such a disaster. Since I didn’t have the answer, I decided to ask the Lord all of these questions. The Lord was more than willing to talk to mom about this.

Here is his response ..

God said that he saw the storms coming. He could have stopped them, but that would be against his law. His law says that if you worship him only and follow his ways,  you will be blessed. If you don’t follow his ways, destruction will come to you.

He then told me to look in the Old Testament and see where he laid down the laws with Moses and gave that mandate. He also reminded me of how to prophets were sent to Israel time and again to warn them to repent. He could not stop the Babylonian exile from coming unless the people repented of following other gods.

I thought about that for a minute and realized that there would be other Christians out there that would like to argue against that saying that we no longer live under the law. They would say that Jesus took care of that for us … Then God said this to me …

Did Yeshua change everything concerning the law? No. He came not to abolish the law but to fulfill it. He became the ultimate sacrifice for us so that we don’t live under the law to be sanctified by it, but we do still live by it. God said that his laws have not changed. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Jesus gave US the authority to trample over snakes and scorpions. WE now have the authority to stop these things in the spirit.

He also said ..

Repentance is the key. This fell on the heels of Rosh Hashanah. The day of atonement. His people parish for lack of knowledge. The enemy is “allowed” to do things where he has the authority.

Ultimately, WE as the body of Christ allowed these storms to happen. WE have allowed the enemy to come into our land and destroy it. We need to wake up and realize that God can only work through willing vessels. His law makes that clear.
