Jesus stands on a boat with disciples during a storm, calming the rough seas.
THE VISION FROM THE LORD
I was on the ocean, and I could see out in the distance these mountains — and coming up behind the mountains, and to the left of them, were these sheets of rain pouring down onto the water. It wasn’t terribly disruptive, but it was definitely a storm.
It’s like when you’re standing on the beach looking across the water and you can see a storm in the distance — that long sheet that looks almost solid, like a curtain of rain. That’s what I saw. But I was right next to it.
And within the raindrops — waving within them — I could see angels. I could feel the power of God with those angels. They were definitely His.
THE PROPHETIC WORD
I’ll share the word that came to me as I was singing it out. Keep in mind this was sung, so there’s repetition — and a lot of times when God repeats something, it’s because it’s important.
Do you see the storms on the horizon? Do you see the storm on the horizon coming, coming, coming?
For the storm is not for the righteous. The storm is coming, the storm is coming. The harvest is ripe for the wicked. My righteous will go forth and flourish. My righteous will go forth and conquer. For the Army is being built — for My Army that knows Me, for My Army that hears.
For the storm that is coming is a good storm for those who know, and a bad storm for those who do not know Me. For all will get wet in this storm — all will get wet in the deluge. But for some it will be a deluge of beautiful, pure rain that will make your crops grow, and make your seedlings grow, and cause you to flourish like the flowers in the meadow.
Yes, the rain will come and bring a torrent, a torrent, a torrent of clean water. But not for those who do not know Me — it will be a rain of torture and torment. It will uproot, it will destroy, it will clean out, it will clear out.
Choose this day who you will serve. Do you want to serve Me? Then make Me the ruler of your heart. Weed out — weed out everything that is choking you. I want you to weed out everything that is choking you, so the soil can be tilled and made ready and healthy, so the farmer can plant his seed in rich soil and it will be an abundant crop that feeds many, feeds so many.
If you have ears to hear, hear Me. Choose this day — choose this day whom you will serve.
REFLECTING ON THE PROPHETIC WORD
That closing line sent me straight to Joshua 24:15, where Joshua reminds Israel of everything God had done for them, then says:
“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
I believe there’s a parallel for us right now. We’ve been in our own Egypt — our own Babylon. And if the Lord is about to give us our freedom, there are things inside us that aren’t of Him, things we may not even be aware of. We probably have idols. Things we’ve put before God without realizing it.
But this vision isn’t only about what needs to be cleared out — it’s an invitation into closeness. Psalm 27:4 says:
“One thing I ask of the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek Him in His temple.”
That’s what this storm is really clearing the ground for — not just repentance, but intimacy. The tilling isn’t punishment. It’s preparation for closer relationship.
And out of that closeness comes a call to stand in the gap for others. James 5:16 reminds us:
“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
The Army being built in this word isn’t just an army that hears — it’s an army that intercedes, that stands between the coming storm and the people who don’t yet know it’s coming.
Isaiah 43:19 gives us the calling underneath all of it:
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
The storm clears the field. But God is already at work planting something new in it — and He’s asking us to be part of that planting, not just spectators to the clearing.
QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
A PRAYER
Lord, till the soil of my heart. Show me what I’ve put before You without even realizing it. Draw me closer into Your presence, not just into obedience. And give me a heart that intercedes for others the way You’ve interceded for me. Let me be ready for the new thing You’re planting. Amen.
