Fill the Gap With Love | 1 Peter 4:8 Devotional
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” — 1 Peter 4:8
The State of the World
The world has seen a taste of hate over the last few years and they are crying out for love.
It is so tempting these days to match hate for hate. When I go on social media these days it seems that there is more hate than love. I see posts of people attacking some one because they don’t agree. I see christians putting up posts attacking the church on a branch that they don’t agree with. I see so many confused young people being beat over the head with arguments about how they are failing God and failing in life because they are living an unGodly lifestyle
I wonder if that is the best way to reach someone. I think most of those people who are identifying as another sex or openly rebelling are not doing because they know God and they want to smear him.. I think they are doing it because they are hurt and have been terribly hurt by the church and people who get in their faces and expe these people to understand scripture or holines.
Fill the gap with my love.
In a recent word I got from the Lord for the church he said .. FILL THE GAP WITH MY LOVE.
He wants us to fill he world with his love, not hate. He wanted us to be a bridge between them and him. Because he is going to be bringing broken and hurting people to you!
Reflection
Where do you see a “gap” of hate in the world around you right now — in your own circles, online, in your community? What would it look like for you to fill that exact gap with love today?
A Prayer For Today
Lord, show me the gaps hate has left behind, and use me to fill them with Your love. Amen.
