Do Dreams Have a Deeper Meaning?
Dreams are a mysterious thing. Many people have claimed to understand them based on psychology. When the Jesus opened my eyes to the prophetic, seeing visions and dreams, my whole perspective on it changed.
I remember it was the summer of ’95 and I was sitting in a church service. I was sitting next to a young woman who was about my age. The service shifted from the preacher teaching to things opening up so that we could all pray for one another. This woman I was sitting next to began to pray for me and next thing I know, she was speaking things about my life that she coudn’t possible know about. God was sharing things with her about me that were so personal, it brought me to tears.
Has that ever happened to you?
I was so taken back by this. I wanted to know more. You see, that was the first time that i had ever encountered the prophetic. I had the ability to see visions on a very small scale, but this just blew my mind.
This was not my subconscious mind playing out a fantasy or a whim. This was the very presence of God communicating with me.
After that, I dove in head first into how I could learn to do this too. It turns out that God wants all of his children to prophesy and know his voice. As I stepped more into this, I began to hear him speak to me personally, as well as be able to bless others, just like the young woman had done for me.
Did you know that you can hear his voice too?
I’ve learned that God wants to be in the middle of everything we do. From the small to the big. As I began my journey into writing songs, I found him to be right in the middle of that with me, too. Sometimes when I’m writing I will see a vision from him, and that lets me know what direction God wants the song to go. Sometimes I hear whole phrases or even verses.
God showed up in all of my music in my early songwriting too, right from the beginning of my album Let Me In. He continued to pop in on all of my songs, no matter if it was a love song, as a song about a relationship, or about him. He loves being a part of it all!
But things took a serious turn in the summer of 2014. It was while I was having my quiet time with God. I was not thinking about music or songs or writing. I was just enjoying hanging out with him, when he landed an amazing vision on me that was the beginning of the creation of my album Angel Wings. To make the story short, I saw a vision of him playing a flute and singing. He was singing the words to a song, and as I heard the words, they were so poetic and profound that I instantly went to my computer to write them down. The melody I couldn’t duplicate, but the words, with the exception of the bridge part, were all from him. I have found that he often likes to be my co-writer.
We are his co-laborers!
(You can read more about the whole album and the other dreams and visions that I got while creating the album HERE.)
The song I am telling you about is called Come To Me. I created an acoustic version of the song with just vocal and guitar. The lyric video is down below, and as a special treat, I am giving away a free download of this acoustic version for you just for being a subscriber!
Because it’s people like you who encourage me, and make it worthwhile to share these incredible things I see about the kingdom of heaven.
Just click on the button below the video and it will download to your computer.
Enjoy!
And please share your thoughts about it in the comments! I’d love to hear how it ministered to you.
