Meditation means different things to different people. If you ask someone on the street what meditation is they will likely give you an image of someone sitting in a yoga position chanting with the Dalai Lama on top of the Himalayan mountains. While this is a true definition of what meditation is to some people, what I am offering to you here is something much different.
What I’m putting before you today is Christ-centered meditation. Meditation in eastern philosophy is centered around finding peace and oneness with the universe. Christ-centered meditation is about connecting with the God of the universe. The God who created the universe. Eastern philosophies like Buddhism, Hinduism, and New Age teach that you are God.
There are a lot of differences in the direct teachings of each one of these religions, be it reincarnation or becoming one with the universe upon death. But, the main difference between Christ-centered meditation and these other teachings is that eternal life is made possible through Christ. Heaven is a real place. When we pass from this earth, we go to be with God and live in this real place.
Our go-between here on earth is the Holy Spirit, also known as the spirit of God. He is our helper here on earth.
I have spent many years in Christ-centered meditation learning to hear his voice. As Jesus says in John 10:27 … My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. He speaks to me, and many of my friends in dreams, visions, the spoken word, and the holy bible. I have seen visions of angels, and I have seen visions of what our final home in heaven is like. And, from what little I have seen, it is absolute perfection. No death. No sickness. No hate. No war. So much love, and joy all the time, and we will be with our creator and father!
The great news is that you don’t have to wait until you leave this earth to be with him! You can tap into the realm of heaven now!. You can connect with God, the one who created you! You can be blessed by the love of Jesus. Your whole world around you could be crumbling, and you will have peace!
If you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, it’s really easy to fix that. All you need to do is tell him that you want him to be your Lord and Savior and that you believe he is the son of God. Here is a sample prayer if you need it… God, I want to know you. I want to know the real living God found through your son Jesus. Accept my prayer today as my way of pronouncing that you are my Lord and Savior. Amen.
